Are you a strategic leader who lives at the intersection of technology, people, and process? Do you want to build the future of HR for a major organization?

Our client is seeking a visionary Senior Director of HR Technology & Automation to lead the evolution of their human resources ecosystem.

In this role, you will be the key driver behind their HR technology and payroll operations.

You'll lead a team of experts, overseeing the management, optimization, and integration of their core HR platforms—from payroll and timekeeping to talent acquisition and workforce management.

Your core mission will be to champion innovation.

You will identify opportunities to leverage AI, automation, and process reengineering to transform workflows, eliminate administrative work, and deliver a seamless, modern employee experience. You will lead the charge in making their HR function more efficient, data-driven, and strategic.

Key Responsibilities

HR Technology & Strategy Leadership

  • Develop and execute a forward-thinking HR technology roadmap that aligns with business objectives and elevates the employee experience.
  • Oversee the entire suite of HR systems, ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance.
  • Lead the selection, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of technology solutions.

Payroll & Operations Management

  • Direct all payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and strict compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with finance, legal, and other departments to ensure seamless and compliant payroll delivery.

Innovation & Process Reengineering

  • Champion and implement AI, machine learning, and robotic process automation (RPA) initiatives to modernize HR and payroll workflows.
  • Lead comprehensive process redesign efforts to automate manual tasks and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Use data analytics to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and system optimization.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of HR technology and payroll professionals.
  • Forge strong partnerships across HR, IT, Finance, and other business units to drive integrated technology solutions.
  • Act as a change leader, inspiring technology adoption and operational transformation within the organization.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in HR technology, payroll operations, or systems leadership, with 5+ years in a senior management role.
  • Proven success leading large-scale automation and technology transformation initiatives within HR or payroll functions.
  • Deep expertise in payroll operations, tax compliance, and modern HR processes.
  • Experience managing and integrating enterprise HR systems across multiple functions.
  • A strong track record of leading and developing teams, managing complex projects, and delivering results.
  • WorkDay experience is required, ideally past experience leading an implementation and becoming a subject matter expert.
