Field Service Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to execute service work of medium to high complexity as per work instructions and ABB guidelines. Each day, you will deliver excellent customer service to satisfy customers. You will also showcase your expertise by working with customer to identify opportunities in the installed base, to improve system performance and operational performance. You will be mainly accountable for: • Contributing to customer satisfaction by planning and executing service work as per customer order and expectations. • Ensuring customer retention by delivering superior customer experience and effectively communicating service work timeline and expectations. • Taking actions to identify new service business opportunities for ABB, in close cooperation with customer and other ABB teams. • Coaching technicians and engineers and supervising complex site activities.

Qualifications for the role

  • Bachelor’s Degree on Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or college (or a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical, support, or field engineering position).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a field engineering role including a minimum of 3 years of experience performing power systems analysis and a minimum of 1 year of experience in customer support and the development of successful customer relationships.
  • Ability and willingness to travel 60% - 80% of the time within TX, LA, MO, OK, AR, KS, AL, MS, TN regions.
  • Experience with various electrical controls (power delivery) and systems to include: Mid-Voltage Switchgear, Low-Voltage Switchgear, Power Panels & Motor Control Center, Generators & Transformers Maintenance, Automatic Transfer Switches, Electromechanical Repairs, Wiring Diagrams: one line electrical drawings, Blueprints & Schematics, Test Equipment & Instruments, Relay Testing & installation (preferred), Instruments; PLC’s & DCS (preferred) o Parallel Switchgear (preferred), and Variable Frequency Drives (preferred)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in repair troubleshooting, shop operations, and testing of assigned programs/hardware.
  • Project management or supervisory experience (meeting deadlines, resource & budget handling).
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
