Position Overview:
We need a detail-oriented Web Designer to support the design, development, and maintenance of multiple intelligence-focused websites and digital content platforms for program. This role combines technical web expertise with an understanding of secure publication workflows and design standards to help deliver high-quality, timely products.
Key Responsibilities:
Website Design & Management
· Design, redesign, and maintain websites to ensure functionality, uniformity, and compliance with USCG standards.
· Ensure consistent layout, appearance, and navigation across websites.
· Perform minor updates to dynamic websites built with HTML, JavaScript, or SharePoint.
· Write JavaScript code to dynamically pull and display database content as webpages.
Product Layout & Publication
· Layout approximately 50 intelligence publications per year, typically 8–12 pages, using Microsoft Word in accordance with ICC design standards.
· Review products for accuracy, consistency in formatting, and proper classification markings.
Web Publishing & Conversion
· Convert Word documents into HTML and XML using Adobe Dreamweaver and/or government-provided XML authoring tools.
· Post HTML, XML, and PDF versions of approved products to designated websites within four hours of approval.
· Validate XML files using the Library of National Intelligence (LNI) web validator to ensure acceptance.
· Ensure that all HTML code includes valid metadata required by the Intelligence Community.
· Maintain websites free of broken links and inconsistent formatting.
User Feedback & Improvement
· Survey internal and external users to gather feedback on site usability and functionality.
· Present insights to management for continuous improvement recommendations.
External Website Posting
· Upload approximately 360 documents per year to at least four non-ICC websites using web-based forms (typically PDF format).
Required Qualifications:
· Active TS/SCI clearance
· 3+ years of experience in website design, web publishing, or front-end development
· Proficiency with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and SharePoint
· Experience with Adobe Dreamweaver, XML tools, and Microsoft Word
· Strong attention to detail with ability to identify formatting or classification inconsistencies
· Comfortable working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
· Excellent organizational and communication skills
