Job Description

We are seeking a Strategic Sourcing Specialist to support contracting and sourcing activities for technology and services within a research and development (R&D) environment. This role will focus on software and external services procurement, vendor management, and cross-functional collaboration, including support for digital transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end sourcing activities for software and services, including definition of user requirements, market analysis, supplier evaluation, and contract negotiation.
• Support R&D technology initiatives and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure alignment on sourcing and technical needs.
• Oversee and support contract lifecycle management, ensuring agreements meet business, financial, and compliance requirements.
• Analyze spend and vendor usage patterns to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvement.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams (e.g., R&D, IT, Finance) and external suppliers.
• Collaborate on digital and technology transformation projects as needed.
• Support enterprise-wide and regional procurement initiatives and category management activities.
• Ensure sourcing strategies comply with internal policies and external regulations.
• Facilitate cross-functional communication and decision-making at multiple organizational levels, including senior leadership.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) required.
• Procurement certifications such as ISM, IPMM, or MCIPS preferred.
• 4–6 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or vendor management, preferably in biotech, pharmaceuticals, or other regulated industries.
• Proven experience in a global procurement environment.
• Strong understanding of sourcing principles, pricing models, licensing structures, and contract alternatives.
• Demonstrated ability to negotiate and draft complex global contracts.
• Strong financial acumen and business judgment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proactive and collaborative approach.
