Position: Traveling Carpenter
An FMGI Carpenter performs high-quality commercial carpentry, including framing, installing doors/windows/cabinetry, trim work (molding, base), and finishes, by reading blueprints and working with team leads, ensuring job site safety, and maintaining tools for retail, office, and hospitality projects. They focus on quality, safety, and client satisfaction, often handling remodeling and facility maintenance in the commercial real estate sector.

Key Responsibilities
• Construction & Installation: Frame walls, install pre-hung doors, windows, cabinets, and apply various trim (baseboards, crown molding, casing).
• Blueprint Interpretation: Understand and follow blueprints, specifications, and direction from Lead Carpenters/Superintendents.
• Quality & Craftsmanship: Perform tasks with high-quality workmanship, ensuring projects meet client needs and company standards.
• Safety & Maintenance: Maintain a clean, safe job site, protect company tools, and adhere to safety protocols.
• Communication: Effectively communicate with team members and clients.
• Travel: Heavy travel for projects in the Southeast and Texas. (All Travel expenses are paid for)
Required Skills & Abilities
• Proficiency in rough and finish carpentry.
• Ability to operate all tools safely and correctly.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Good communication and teamwork.
Typical Work Environment
• Commercial construction sites (retail, hospitality, medical, industrial).
• Involves both new construction and remodeling/maintenance.
