Job Summary:
The Associate Director of Security is part of the Operations Leadership Team and reports to the Director of Facilities. The Associate Director of Security must possess detailed knowledge of current security issues within an independent school setting. This role is responsible for developing, refining, and updating the security policies of the school.
Responsibilities include:
Oversee the crisis management program across the campus locations, including:
Work with the school-wide and campus based Incident Response teams and campus based staff to ensure there is continuous practice and competency in addressing campus security responses.
Work with the Technology team to ensure that notification systems across campuses are operating effectively.
Train individuals on the campuses who are responsible for reacting in a crisis; ensure there is a continuous program in place to train individuals throughout the school year.
Oversee the process for fire drills on the campuses and coordinate with local fire safety authorities
Support response to security issues during the school day and emergencies outside of normal business hours
Responsible for keys and the access granted within the card key access system, including:
Work with the Technology team to ensure that the system provides appropriate access to the specific school community groups.
Coordinate with the Technology team on how to provide one-off access.
Troubleshoot door access issues as they arise.
Maintain a system to track and issue keys and fobs to individuals.
Oversees and manages Safety/Security work order requests
Leverage functionality within the Security Help Desk work order system and Veracross, as well as the school’s employee and student information system, to manage the various functions of this position.
Responsible for the organization, planning, and execution of projects related to Safety and Security
Create and manage the school’s security budgets
Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Competencies:
Associate Director of Security must have a bachelor's degree or higher in Security, Criminal Justice, or Emergency Management; additional coursework or degree in education, physical education, and/or management helpful. A minimum of 10 years or more years of Security or Law Enforcement or similar experience. A Valid Massachusetts driver's license, First Aid, and CPR certification.
In addition, the Associate Director of Security will demonstrate the following competencies:

Proficiency with computers and working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Google applications and ability to learn and use access software used by BB&N.
