We are seeking a skilled Automation and Controls Specialist with experience in automation systems, controls, and Allen-Bradley programming to support and optimize manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency, safety, and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, program, troubleshoot, and maintain automated control systems using Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to implement control solutions for new and existing manufacturing processes.
  • Troubleshoot and repair control systems, minimizing downtime and ensuring system integrity.
  • Maintain software and hardware for automation systems, ensuring performance, reliability, and safety.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize automation and reduce costs.
  • Provide technical support and training to team members.
  • Assist in the integration of new equipment into automated systems, ensuring seamless operation.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of system changes and configurations.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or related field (Bachelor's preferred).
  • Experience: 2-3 years of experience in automation and controls, ideally in metal manufacturing.
  • Technical Skills: Experience programming and maintaining Allen-Bradley PLC systems (ControlLogix, CompactLogix).
  • Proficiency in RSLogix 5000, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk, and related tools.
  • Knowledge of electrical control systems, sensors, actuators, and motor drives (VFDs, servos).
  • Familiarity with Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, and Modbus communication protocols.
  • Experience with SCADA systems and HMI design (FactoryTalk View).
  • Machine vision and robotic systems experience is a plus.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication to interact with teams and document processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in metal manufacturing or similar industrial environments.
  • Certification in automation-related fields (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations in industrial environments.
