Job Description

Overview

The Commercial Banking Leader is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and continuous improvement of commercial account opening, legal documentation, and treasury management (TM) product administration. This role ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies, while leading a team of five to deliver exceptional service and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a client-centric culture by mentoring staff and setting service expectations. ( Team of 5)
  • Manage end-to-end onboarding and documentation for loan and treasury management products.
  • Independently perform routine processing tasks and ensure service level agreements are met.
  • Collaborate with Credit, Relationship Managers, and Compliance to support client growth.
  • Administer TM product setup and maintenance; maintain vendor relationships and act as product administrator for technology platforms.
  • Cross-train team members and ensure adequate coverage across functions.
  • Publish performance dashboards and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Maintain and update policies, procedures, SOPs, and internal controls.
  • Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards.
  • Own remediation efforts for audit and exam findings.
  • Track exceptions and maintain an exam-ready operational environment.
  • Develop and implement fraud prevention strategies.
  • Evaluate current workflows and guide the team in leveraging technology for efficiency.
  • Build business cases for automation and system improvements.
  • Lead change management and training initiatives.
  • Secure alignment and approvals for proposed changes.
  • Anticipate future technology needs and plan accordingly.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in loan support or treasury management is ideal + Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience. If no direct banking experience, we are willing to look at candidates with experience in legal documentation and/or contract management!
  • Strong working knowledge of commercial account opening (CIP, KYC, BOI, OFAC) and loan documentation (UCCs, collateral, insurance/flood, ticklers) preferred.
  • Familiarity with TM products and rules (ACH/NACHA, wires, RDC, Positive Pay) and entitlement controls preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Proven ability to drive continuous improvement through metrics, SOPs, and root-cause analysis.
  • Effective stakeholder management across Credit, Relationship Management, Compliance, IT, and vendors.

Location: Edina, MN (On-site with ad hoc remote flexibility after training)

Type: Direct Hire

Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Compensation: $85,000-$110,000 annually + bonus
