Job Description



H&K Group, Inc. is looking for a dispatcher to schedule field employees , equipment, materials and trucking needs daily to insure they are in place for each job in the field. This dispatch position will work with three other dispatchers in our central dispatch office in Skippack, Pennsylvania . Our Skippack Dispatch office is responsible for the above-mentioned needs for seven of our divisions . This includes dispatching union and non-union field employees and drivers. The Dispatcher will also be required to be On Call for overnight and weekend shifts on a rotating schedule basis. The ideal candidate is energetic, organized, and a strong communicator that must be able to multitask effectively and respond rapidly to schedule changes.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform all work adhering to OSHA and H&K Safety policies
  • Coordinate movement of field employees, materials and equipment to job sites
  • Dispatch triaxles to job sites, quarries and asphalt plants and send out daily truck schedules
  • Communicate with material suppliers, laborers, operators, and supervisors with job concerns
  • Schedule field employees and equipment moves using HCSS Dispatcher Software
  • Monitor truck activity using HCSS Telematics
  • Cut oversize permits for equipment moves: APRAS, City of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Turnpike, Septa, DRPA and DRJTBC bridges, NJ permits
  • Keep track of traffic and weather conditions affecting schedules
  • Prepare all paperwork associated with completed assigned tasks
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications



Required Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Associate’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited educational institution; OR 6 months to 1 year of related experience and/or training
    • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may also be considered
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Word, Outlook, Excel, Access)
  • Working knowledge of iPhones for call and text communication
  • Problem solving, planning, and other reasoning skills
  • Ability to work and adjust to changes
  • Customer Service and Teamwork
  • Business Acumen and Cost Consciousness
  • Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
  • Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)
