I am hiring an estimator for a construction company that I work with in Waukesha. This is a temp to hire opportunity.

Location: Waukesha, WI (100% Onsite)

Compensation: $70,000 annually Discretionary Bonus

Start Date: Immediate – urgent need to increase number of bids/proposals being submitted

About the Role

A growing construction organization is seeking a motivated Estimator to join their team and help increase proposal activity and win rates. This is a fully onsite role ideal for individuals with construction field experience who are looking to transition into an office-based estimating position.

Candidates do not need to come from the steel industry—backgrounds in electrical, HVAC, or other construction estimating are welcome.

Key Responsibilities

• Review, vet, and manage bid requests via company email.
• Complete full estimating cycle:
• Understand project requests
• Perform quantity takeoff
• Prepare quotes and pricing
• Submit proposals accurately and on time
• Target of 1 completed bid per day (typical bid takes approx. 8 hours).
• Estimate projects ranging from $50,000 to $250,000.
• Improve current bid win rate from 4.5% to 10%+ to capture significant revenue.
• Attend job meetings and meet all proposal deadlines.
• Maintain strong communication and follow-through.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret plans/blueprints is required.
• Prior construction experience (field or estimating) strongly preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
