Job Description

Are you an ambitious leader who wants to be a direct part of a rapidly growing international company? Now is the time to join our team! We are an Italian-based chocolate and gelato company, founded in 1878, with over 150 stores located across the US, the UK, Italy, and many other countries.

We are looking for a passionate HR Director for our HQ in New York as we continue to expand across the US!

As a key member of our US leadership team, you will shape and deliver Venchi’s people strategy in alignment with our global HR vision, partnering closely with the Global CHRO and senior leadership to enable business growth and foster a thriving workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute the US people strategy, fully aligned with Venchi’s global 3-year HR roadmap and business objectives.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on organizational design, workforce planning, succession planning, and talent pipeline development.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of HR policies, processes, and compliance frameworks in accordance with federal and local labor regulations
  • Lead the talent management agenda, including performance management, structured training, leadership development, and succession planning programs.
  • Provide strategic direction for talent acquisition for both Corporate and Retail teams, ensuring the attraction and retention of top talent to meet current and future business needs.
  • Review and enhance the company’s total rewards strategy, including compensation and benefits, in partnership with the Global HR team to remain competitive in the market.
  • Develop, coach, and empower the US HR team to deliver excellence in both strategic and operational HR activities.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree or HR certification preferred)
  • Minimum of 8–10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a senior HR leadership role, ideally within a multi-unit retail, food & beverage, or hospitality environment.
  • Proven success partnering with senior executives on organizational development, change management, and cultural transformation.
  • In-depth knowledge of US labor laws and HR best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement people strategies that drive business results.
  • Strong business acumen and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility at all levels.
  • Passionate about people, culture, and—naturally—a lover of chocolate and gelato!

Benefits

  • 401k matching (up to 4%)
  • Competitive paid time off policy
  • Annual performance bonus
  • 100% company covered health and dental benefits
  • Generous bonding leave policy
  • Commuter benefits
  • Open, friendly, and supportive working environment
  • Free & fresh Gelato to eat while in store!
