About Us
Municipal Winemakers is a dynamic, DTC-driven winery with a variety of different wine brands and tasting rooms in Santa Barbara and Ventura . We’re seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Finance & Operations Manager to oversee bookkeeping, payroll, HR, cash management, and vendor relations in a flexible part-time role (16 hours/week).
What You’ll Do
🔹 Finance & Bookkeeping:
• Manage QuickBooks for AP/AR, reconciliations, and wholesale invoicing
• Oversee cash flow forecasting & financial reporting
• Ensure POS & inventory (Shopify + Vinsight) stay aligned with QuickBooks
🔹 Payroll & HR:
• Process payroll (via Gusto or equivalent)for hourly & salaried staff
• Manage onboarding, compliance, and employee records
• Support HR policies & benefits administration
🔹 Compliance & Reporting:
• Manage the relationship with our winery compliance consultant , ensuring TTB, CA BOE, and ABC filings are handled correctly (no direct compliance experience required)
• Ensure wholesale invoicing & collections are tracked efficiently
🔹 Operations & Vendor Management:
• Manage vendor contracts, insurance renewals, and expense tracking
• Oversee office administration and operational efficiencies
What We’re Looking For
✔ 3+ years of bookkeeping & finance experience (wine, hospitality, or retail a plus)
✔ Proficient in QuickBooks, Shopify, and payroll systems
✔ Strong cash management & financial reporting skills
✔ Experience with wholesale invoicing, vendor management, and HR administration
✔ Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently
