Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist

Job Summary

The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for providing evaluation and treatment services to patients of all age groups in an inpatient acute care setting. The role ensures timely, accurate, and patient-centered delivery of speech-language pathology services, while maintaining compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Comprehend, interpret, and follow medical prescriptions for Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Conduct evaluations and diagnostic testing across all ages.
  • Administer speech-language, cognitive, and swallow assessments.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions for communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Document patient progress and outcomes accurately and promptly.
  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment goals and progress.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and participate in patient care conferences.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology.
  • Certification by the American Speech and Hearing Association.
  • Current New York State Speech Language Pathology license
  • BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).
  • Min 2 yrs clinical exp w/ diverse pt populations
  • Specialized training in dysphagia evaluation & rehabilitation, including competence in MBS &/or FEES procedures.
