Customer Title Specialist

Virginia Beach, VA

*Candidate REQUIRED be located in VA Beach area for client visits as needed*

As a Customer Title Specialist, you’ll not only review property records and ensure insurability but you’ll also serve as the key point of contact for one of our largest clients. This role is both analytical and customer-facing, requiring strong technical expertise in title examination along with polished communication skills to manage client relationships, resolve escalated issues, and deliver a best-in-class experience.

What You’ll Do

• Serve as the primary contact for a major client, managing escalations and ensuring satisfaction.
• Review and analyze title orders, property records, and supporting documents.
• Perform multi-state title examinations of deeds, mortgages, tax records, liens, plats, and more.
• Prepare title commitments, preliminary reports, and ownership histories.
• Identify and clear title defects such as breaks in chain of title, unreleased mortgages, and encumbrances.
• Collaborate with underwriters, attorneys, and curative staff to resolve issues.
• Maintain compliance with regulations, underwriting standards, and strict deadlines.
• Assist with curative work, policy issuance, and training new examiners.

What You Bring

• 3+ years of experience in title examination (multi-state/national preferred).
• Proven experience in client-facing roles, ideally serving as a primary contact for large accounts.
• Strong knowledge of real estate legal documents and title insurance underwriting.
• Ability to interpret legal descriptions, surveys, and plats.
• Experience with Resware or other title production software (preferred).
• Exceptional attention to detail, analytical ability, and communication skills.
• Independent, deadline-driven, and comfortable managing a high-volume workload.
